I sincerely pray that everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving with family and friends! I had an awesome time with my loved ones! This is my favorite time of the year. I am very family oriented and I cherish every opportunity I have to make new memories with the people who matter most to me. With that said, I want to share something with you...
The enemy may try to make us feel like we are lacking during this time of year, whether it be something tangible or intangible. Maybe, you still want that car, that career, that friendship, that relationship or marriage. However, one thing we must not lose sight of is what the holidays are truly about. As cliche as this may sound: "Jesus is the reason." Although we should be reflecting on His love, grace and sacrifice throughout the year, let's not take those precious gifts for granted during the holidays due to our selfish desires or distractions.
Take time to appreciate and thank God for sending His son in human form. He changed His very appearance for us. The King of all kings reduced Himself to be birthed as a child and literally became "Emmanuel" meaning "God with us." Isn't it amazing that we have a God who isn't some distant being detached from His creation? But instead, He actually desires to have a personal relationship with us and become involved in our every day lives!
So each and every year, I am thankful for many things: my family, friends, my career etc... But most importantly, I am thankful for my Lord, my Savior, my very best friend: Jesus Christ. In honor of His birth, I dedicate this rendition of "O Holy Night" in reverence to my King. I love you all so very much! Have a Merry CHRISTmas!
